adventures in disproportion
Today I was fitted for a bra. I have a bust disproportionate to my size 12 body. This is not news. I have back pain, of course. Finding normal tops is hard enough; dresses and jackets are rarely ever bothered with; button-ups have been officially abandoned as a lost cause. And I can't find a goddamn bra that fits me. They don't sell them at normal stores. And so, I went to San Francisco's best, prepared to do what I had to do and spend what I had to spend (bras over DD = $40 minimum, generally), in order to know the truth and walk out of the store with at least one garment in which my breasts would be fully contained. I put myself in the hands of the pros. Well, one pro who told me to go to Nordstrom cuz Neiman Marcus couldn't rise to my challenge, then the second pro who pro'd out. Mitsi, bringer of bras, teller of truth. So now I know:
My correct bra size is 34HH.
(34?! Both pros confirmed this for me as I gaped in disbelief, having not worn a 34 band for seriously a friggin' decade. It is good I don't believe in God, for if I did I'd be forced to conclude that when He drew up my plans He was, to be honest, more than a little inebriated. And nobody wants a drunken Almighty, amirite?)
Pfffsdjkmsadjdksa what even. *exhaaale*
