I have not watched the new season of Doctor Who, but I thought I'd pop in with a story rec for something that seems to match your other interests: "Winds to Catch," in which post-The Last Battle Susan meets Mary Poppins, and of course awesomeness results - to quote a commenter, it makes me want to arm every lost girl with an umbrella and a stiff upper lip.
